Japanese Movie Nights

You are invited to join us for Japanese Movie Nights! We will watch a Japanese or Japan-related movie every two weeks. The first movie on September 13th is "Jiro Dreams of Sushi: じろうはすしのゆめをみる." Please come and join us! きてください！

Japanese Conversation Table (にほんごかいわテーブル)

Here comes "Japanese Conversation Table" schedule! In this sessions, you can freely talk in Japanese with other students in Japanese program. Sensee will be also there, and sometimes other native Japanese as well! It might be a big challenging for you yet, but why don't you consider to join us after Fall Break? Sensee and some Japanese treatment are waiting for you!

ブログのしゅくだい(BLOG HW)...due 9/5 (M)

Please complete the following 1-3 by げつようび(Monday), 9/5.

1. Write a brief じこしょうかい in にほんご.

In higarana(and katakana), please write your self-introduction. Use grammar patterns from Chapter 1-2.

2. Post in えいご.

Introduce a Japanese person/object that you like(song, movie, artist, food, store, place, etc.) You can use pictures and videos too!

3. Please comment on the blogs of your classmates (at least three). Try to use にほんご in your comment if you can.

ひらがなビデオ (video)

みなさん、ひらがなのれんしゅう(practice)は　どうですか？ How is your Hiragana practice going so far? Here is a video showing how to write ひらがな with a calligraphy brush and ink. Hopefully this will give you ideas how to make 'stop' 'release' and 'hook'. Spend your time practicing ひらがな this week & next week!

In order to open a new blog account, please follow the instructions.

1. Go to http://www.blogger.com to create your blog.　　

• In order to receive comments from as many people as possible, please select "Settings," then "Comments," and choose either "Registered Users" or "Users with Google Accounts" under the "Who can comment?" section.

• If you want to know how to type Japanese, please click the link listed on the left side.

2. Add your blog address (URL) to the Sakai Dropbox…due Thursday, 8/25

3. First blog entry (in English, Japanese will be optional)…due Friday, 8/26

4. Comment on others (at least three) …due Monday, 8/29

• If you have trouble opening a new account, please let the instructor know.

• If you already have a blog and you can use Japanese on it, you do not have to open a new account. Let us know the URL thorough Dropbox.
